
Ignatius W. "Izzy" Rogers, Jr. - SAVANNAH - Ignatius W.
Rogers, Jr., 66, died Wednesday, July 29, 2009 at Memorial University
Medical Center. The native and lifelong resident of Savannah, retired from
Champion Machine after 41 years of service. He graduated from Benedictine
Military School in 1960 and was a veteran of the United States Army. Izzy,
as he was known by his many friends, was a member of the Dixieland Cruisers
and an Antique Car enthusiast. He was of the Catholic faith and an avid
fisherman. He is survived by his wife of 25 years, Judith H. Rogers, of
Savannah, his daughter and son-in-law, Holly and Glenn Price, of Savannah,
his son and daughter-in-law, Trae and Amy Rogers, of Houston, Texas, his
sisters, Joyce R. Fischer, Ruthe Martin and her daughters, Marta and Mary;
grandchildren, Cameron and McKenzie Rogers, Anna Price, Heather James and
her husband, Foster, great-granddaughter, Naiya James, several nieces and
nephews, and his mother-in-law, Fleta F. Browder, of Miami, Florida.
Visitation: 4:00 to 6:00 p.m., Sunday, August 2, 2009 with a Christian Wake
Service at 5:00 p.m., at the Islands Chapel of Fox and Weeks Funeral
Directors. Funeral Service: 10:00 a.m., Monday, August 3, 2009 at the
Islands Chapel of Fox and Weeks Funeral Directors with the Rev. Patrick
O'Brien, officiating. Burial: Hillcrest Abbey Memorial Park. Pallbearers
will be Toby Gnann, Tommy Brunson, Glenn Price, and his nephews, Frank
Fischer, Jimmy Fischer, and Nash Fischer. Remembrances may be made to
